Causes Of Anal Fistula
Typically the majority of anal fistula is caused by a previous anorectal abscess. Usually, it so happens that after a surgical procedure or spontaneous drainage in the perianal skin, a granulation tissue is left behind, this may cause a tract formation. Anal fistula occurs in almost 40% of the cases in the patient who undergo abscess drainage.
Fistula may also develop as an after effect to traumas such as Crohn's disease, anal fissures, cancers, and tuberculosis.
